Easter in Texas

Well, the family is back from our adventure to Texas for Easter. It was a ton of fun!! The drive down went much better than expected - Van slept the entire time, barely made a peep; Maggie didn't sleep, but rested quietly in the back seat. We made the drive in just 15 hours - 2 less than we thought - and arrived at the ranch around 9 a.m. Saturday morning, just in time for everyone to get up and have the first cup of morning coffee.

Easter was relaxed - an egg hunt in the front yard for Ahir was fun for him as well as for Maggie and Gigi. Dinner was an assortement of Irwin favorites, and got rave reviews from everyone at the table!

We took a couple day trips to Fredericksburg and to Austin. We found a fantastic place for lunch in Fredericksburg, The Peach Tree, and spent the afternoon shopping and browsing around the shops downtown. On our trip to Austin we enjoyed lunch at Magnolia Cafe and then split into two groups - the boys went to Fry's (for those who don't know, it's the mecca of all electronics stores) and the girls went to Central Market (it's like Whole Foods on steroids - so fantastic!!). Both groups came back very happy!

The drive home felt longer, but that was only because Josh and I were worn out. Van still slept peacefully in the back seat, and Maggie was calm and curled up next to him. We're happy to be home, but had such a fantastic time we're already looking forward to the next time we can go down.
