Momma's Vail Weekend Getaway

Moms need a break. We do! So, three other moms and I decided we'd take a little weekend trip to Vail to relax and rejuvenate. It was just what we needed!
We checked into the Vail Cascade Resort early Friday night, and headed to the bar for a yummy, indulgent dinner (shrimp mac-n-cheese followed by coconut cheesecake).
Saturday morning the concierge sent us to a place called The Little Diner in Lionshead Village for breakfast. Not only did it live up to its name (no tables, only a U-shaped counter with stools that seated about 25 ppl) but it was sooooooo delicious! Dinner was still sitting with us a little, but this was a place we were all very impressed with, and I would go back to in a heartbeat! After breakfast we walked a bit around the village, which was dreamily pretty, then headed back to the hotel spa.
Some spa treatments, pool time and a little dip for our feet in the hot tub got us ready for a light lunch in their spa lounge. After all that we were ready for nothing else but a nap before we headed over to Vail Village to do a little shopping and find some dinner.
Later that night, after a day that was pretty tiring for three pregnant mommas, we donned our robes and headed to the outdoor hot tub... to watch our only non-pregnant momma have a dip. Our feet had a nice jet massage though! And the sky had cleared to reveal a blanket of stars - it was gorgeous. On our way back up to our rooms we found a little outdoor fireplace that had seating just for the four of us - perfect! We sat there, dried our feet and chatted until they closed the outdoor area :-)
Sunday we slept in, requested a late check out and hit the pool one more time. Then we gathered our things (had the hotel give the car a jump - they were extremely helpful!) and made one last stop to the Silverthorn Outlet Mall before heading back to the husbands and kiddos.
Van and Josh had a fun weekend hangin' together, hiking and playing. I got the feeling they were both pretty psyched to see me Sunday though... which felt good.
It was a spectacular weekend with the girls, but it was great to come home, too.
