Halloween '11

Halloween was a blast! We had a few opportunities for the boys to wear their costumes, but the big one was the Boo at the Zoo. Wesley was a spider and Van went as the viking Hiccup (How to Train Your Dragon), complete with horned helmet! They both left the zoo with a bucketful of treats, and got to see lots of animals and other great costumes.

Trick-or-treating at home yielded another full bucket of treats! Wesley and I stayed home waiting for the door bell to ring... which it never did . Not ONE trick-or-treater! Thank goodness I only bought one bag of candy. Van, Dad and Maggie headed out into the neighborhood with the Post family and had a fantastic time!

The only downside to the season was the little accident we had at home. Wesley, learning to climb up on the furniture as well as get himself down, had a tumble against a table leg and a tooth went through his upper lip, at the corner. The tooth is fine, and the cut was clean enough to be glued shut rather than stitched. The ER was empty thank goodness, so we got in right away, and all the nurses and doctors were very nice to li'l Wessers. He was a very brave li'l guy and did very, very well (all things considered). As this was actually just over a month ago, the cut is healed and the scar barely visible at all... and he hasn't gone near that table since.
