Blues, Brews & BBQ in Beaver Creek

Our Memorial Day weekend started in Beaver Creek at the Blues, Brews & BBQ Festival - we all had a spectacular time!  We went with a small group of friends - Chris, Chris & Brody Bayon & Glen and Cindy Meuth - and rented a large condo just up the road from the resort.
Friday we all took off from Longmont and got up to the house just in time to unpack and send Josh & Chris off to make their tee time.  A couple cigars, perfect weather and one of the nicest courses Josh said he's ever played on all made for a great time for the dads!  In the mean time, the rest of us hung at the house enjoying the balcony and checkin' the place out.
Saturday was the big festival day!  We got our coupons (that's right.  For you Ron White fans, you needed "coup'ns" for everything!) and headed into Beaver Creek Village to see about some good bbq for lunch.  After passing many stands that all smelled fantastic and had food that looked awesome, Van opted for chicken sausage on a stick and Wes shared his chicken-on-a-stick with Dad.  Josh and I got pulled-pork sandwiches that were spicy, juicy, smokey deliciousness.  It was then time for the beer!  This was just for Josh and Chris - the kids and the rest of us adults checked out the Kids Zone and did some putter golfing, both of which the boys loved!  Every now and then one of the dads would come out with a new beer to try, a couple of which were pretty tasty (and that's from a gal that doesn't really like beer)!  By 4 it was time for round #2 at the food stands, but of course the boys were not interested in food, so they cooled off at the fountains.  We came home that evening stuffed to the gills, a little sun-kissed, smiling and tired.  After the boys went to bed us big people landed in the hot tub to bubble & soak our tired feet for a bit - ahhhhhhh, so lovely!
We decided to head back Sunday to miss traffic and have a day at home to wind down, but not before gettin' some greasy-spoon breakfast and lettin' the boys ride their bikes a bit.  I think this last bit put Van over the edge:  he said he didn't want to go home, he wanted to stay in the mountains with Brody forever.  From what I understand, Brody was in his car on the way home telling his parents the same thing about Van.  Ah, young bro-mance!
