Happy Easter!

Eggs, baskets and chocolate... it's Easter!

Van and Wes were pretty siked to see their baskets from the Easter Bunny... at 6 in the morning.  They both came running into our bedroom exclaiming all the great things EB had delivered.  However, the highlight they kept talking about wasn't in the baskets, it was the egg hunt later in the day.  There's really nothing like a kid's anticipation.

Kurt and Lindsay had invited the family over for food and diversion.  A promise kept!  It started with food, as it always should:  They loaded the smoker with goodness from sky & sea:  turkey and salmon!   There was a spread of bagels, onions and cream cheese for the salmon which was amazing (we took home leftovers - yum).  The turkey was perfectly cooked - juicy, flavorful with crispy skin.  Twice-baked bacon-loaded potatoes came from The Weagraffs, as well as some of the most delicious deviled eggs ev-ar!  Kaity whipped up a creamy, Harry & David dip for crackers, too.  Josh and I came armed with feta-chive mini muffins (which Kurt thought were blueberry until he tasted one - not disappointed, just surprised) as well as Scotch Eggs!

Just look at all the tableware from Campbell Pottery!
After the meal, Josh and Kurt hoisted themselves to the yard and dispersed oodles of eggs while I distracted the boys inside for a minute.  That's right!  It was time for the much-anticipated egg hunt!  Ainsley found one and was pretty happy with that.  When they were given the green light, the boys took to the yard like something was chasing them, but came to abrupt stops when they saw their first egg.  The whole thing was over within a few minutes, but those two kids didn't care - they were so cheesed!  They counted the eggs to make sure none were missed, and emptied all the contents into a big bowl at home:  jelly beans, white and milk chocolate eggs.

Thank you Kurt & Linds for hosting an amazing day for the family!
