Van's in the Double Digits!

My eldest is 10 years old.  Double digits.  Almost a pre-teen (although there's really no "almost" about it).

The day of his birthday, a Wednesday, his school actually had a "late start" day (kids start school 2 1/2 hours late).  Van's presents were being "hidden" in our room.  I think it might have been 7 a.m. when both boys came in, very excited, wanting to open them.

Josh hung back from work for the morning and we all went to breakfast at Van's favorite place, Le Peep.  School was having Van's favorite lunch that day, too:  french toast sticks.  Score!  That evening Van chose Pho for dinner, and we swung by Whole Foods to pick up a little birthday cake.  He totally enjoyed his day!

For his birthday party he chose to celebrate with a few friends at Get Air here in Longmont.  It's an indoor trampoline park - so super cool.  He opted out of a cake and requested those soft, iced sugar cookies from Target.  You betcha, kiddo!  I did pipe little Vs on them, but talk about easy!  The facility's party package took care of everything else.  It was so nice!

He and his friends bounced and played for a good two hours, only breaking when we told them there was pizza and cookies ready, and even then it took a little coaxing to get 'em off the trampolines.  At the end of the day we sent home tired, happy kids with goodie bags.  No (major) injuries!  Successful party!
