4th of July Weekend, '10

We had an awesome weekend! It started out with a BBQ birthday party for Josh at home on Saturday - just a few close friends, kids and pups. Brats & salads were crowned by a personalized cake from Kaity (awesome). Then on Sunday we headed to Nederland for more fantastic food and friends at the Champness' home. We weren't able to stay late enough for fireworks (which were delayed until 10 due to weather), but it was still a great time - being up there makes even the rain and hail beautiful! We did get to see a little of Longmont's fireworks on the way home, but the weather was pretty rainy and miserable all over.
The weekend was capped off on Monday with a day off for Josh, so we all went to the Boulder Reservoir to meet the Graham and Norris families. The weather was perfect - not too hot and just a little breezy. We hung out in the shade, by the water and took turns going out on the Norris' boat. The boys did a good bit of wake boarding, and when the kids went out they busted out the tube and towed the kids around the lake with their respective daddies. The girls loved the tube, but Van, while he had a turn on the tube, was much more interested in driving the boat. (video and pics of this are forth coming)
It's weekends like this that make me love summer!
