Hammond's Candy
This past week Van, Wes and friends took a tour of Hammond's Candy in Denver. They were, as the saying goes, like kids in a candy store. We got to watch them boil the sugar in huge copper kettles, add color and flavors on giant pullers, roll the candy into 70lb balls and then stretch 'em into lollipops and sticks!
Of course, at the end of the tour was the candy shop - the best part! Van picked out a big, blue lollipop for himself and some Circus Peanuts for Daddy (not sure where that came from, but that's what he wanted to get him). Wes was quite enthralled with all the goings-on as well - lots of bright, spring colors as well as noisy kids runnin' around.
It was a great day, and I'm sure we'll go again. Check out some pictures HERE.
