Breckenridge Getaway
We had a wonderful weekend away in the mountains of Breckenridge with our friends, The Brogans. It was lovely to get away with no real agenda and just relax for a bit. The boys had a great time playing in and around the house, and the adults got to chill in front of a fire with a beverage and no where to go in the evenings - awesome! Even Maggie came with us and was just so cheesed to get to come along on the trip.
Saturday morning was super chilly, but we got out for a hike under Quandry Peak (one of Colorado's 14ers), on McCollough Gulch Trail (starting at 11,265 ft). The trail went out a mile and a half to a lake, but given the altitude and small legs involved we only went to the top of the tree line, about a 1/2 mile up. Van and Hamish did very well! They were exploring and climbing and jumping all along and having a great time being boys. All in all they did just over a mile, and Megan & I were very proud of them.
There was some time spent checking out downtown Breck, but we mostly chilled at the house, enjoying slippers, a few games, a nice fire and wine, and good company.
