Happy 5th Birthday, Van!!

Van is FIVE years old!!  Mom and Dad are in shock & awe.  Now, one thing this BIG guy has become quite fond of is golfing, so where else to have a birthday party but a mini golf course?!  We went to the Gateway Fun Center in North Boulder with a group of friends and family to celebrate Van's big day.  It was great!!

There were two 18-hole mini golf courses to choose from.  Wes and a couple of the littler kids tried their hand at golfing, too.  All the kids got to go through the giant maze as well.  Not gonna lie:  this was a lot more fun than I thought it would be (ha!).  Van and I did it together and had a blast running around corners, getting lost and trying to find the stamps (M-A-Z-E) and get out.

The two biggest draws for all the kids were the arcade and the go-carts.  There were big go-carts the older kids could ride with an adult, and little carts to ride by themselves - boogity, boogity, boogity!!  Racing was the name of the game!  After a pizza lunch for the kids (sandwiches and chips, etc for the big people) Van got to blow out 5 candles on his awesome golf cake Aunt Kaity made for him - chocolate with strawberry filling and buttercream icing - YUMMY!!

It was a spectacular day for all the kiddos!  Everyone seemed to have a really great time, and, most importantly, the birthday boy had a huge smile on his face all day long.
