Snowbound

Okay... last post I noted that I love snow. This is true... until that wonderful, fluffy powder impedes on my travel plans! We, like most of the traveling Denver Metro area, are snowed in and have had our flights cancelled. We have counted our blessings in that at least we made it home from the airport after hearing the news. After being bumped three times, we are scheduled for a flight out Sunday morning - Christmas Eve. We're keeping our fingers crossed.

The car was snowed in for two days, but we were supposed to be in PA anyway, so we had no where to go. Oh - do I feel a song coming on?....
"... And since we've no place to go, Let it snow, Let it snow, Let it snow!" Thursday morning, just as the storm was leaving the area, we took a walk to the grocery store, only to find it was closed as they couldn't get anyone in to work. The gentleman gathering up the snow-filled shopping carts that were strewn about the parking lot assured us they'd be open later that morning though.

While it was cold, and we still didn't have anything in the house to eat (save three dozen Buckeye cookies and a huge bag of rice) we thoroughly enjoyed the walk. The snow was beautiful, there was no one out and it was just so peaceful.

The plan now is to leave tomorrow a.m. and we've moved our return date to New Year's Day. Not quite the same as having that pre-Christmas time at home, but we'll be there none-the-less.

Pennsylvania or Bust!
