Thanksgiving Visit

Well, the Redmore Clan has come and gone. We all spent a wonderful Thanksgiving in Estes Park! Everyone came in for a week, and I think Josh and I kept them busy. Tuesday, the majority of the group went for a beautiful horseback riding day and saw the snow capped peaks of the Rockies from the trail. There was also a night time trip up to Lily Lake to see the stars - a cold but absolutely beautiful night! A few of us even did the hike up to Jurassic Park which overlooks Estes Park on one side of the peak and Lily Lake on the other. It was breathtaking... in more ways than one. ;-)

Then there was of course a day in Boulder. The boys went up to NCAR (the Nat'l Center for Atmospheric Research) in the morning and the girls went out to the Celestial Seasonings factory for a tour and tastings. Both groups had a fantastic time and met up on the Pearl Street Mall later that afternoon for some window shopping and coffee. Before meeting up with the boys, I was able to take the gals to The Med for tapas. They loved it!

Josh's brother cooked all day and made a scrumptious Thanksgiving dinner. Brined turkey and a plethora of stuffings, salads (one with a signature dressing that I just love!) and potatoes. Josh and I had a couple close friends join us from Estes, as well. We all sat around chatting after dinner over coffee and pumpkin and pecan pies.

Josh and I were so happy everyone took the trouble and effort to make it out to see our new home. It meant a lot to us to be able to share this place with family. And from the reactions it sounds like everyone will be back! It was a cozy, low-key family Thanksgiving - perfect.
