Wesley turns THREE!

Wesley Allen turned three last week.  I'm still in awe that my baby isn't a baby any more!  He's such a big boy.

To celebrate we started his birthday with Mickey Mouse pancakes (a la Dad).  After big brother Van was home from school the boys and I went to the Denver Science Center to play.  Wes had been begging to go, and I'd been putting it off until his birthday.  We scored in that there were very few people there, so there were no waits for exhibits.

Later that week was the official birthday party.  Wes  invited all his best friends to join us at the Denver Children's Museum to celebrate!  Gigi was able to join us, and Kaity made a firetruck cake (in the fashion of Jupiter, Fireman Sam's truck).  The Museum ordered pizza for everyone, and all our guests got an all-day pass to play.  It was rather a low stress party for Mom & Dad!

The Bubble Room, the Market Place, the Backyard, the Kinetics lab, rocket launching, and the Art Studio... all of them were awesome!  But the firetruck blows 'em away in Wesley's eyes.

Rather than gifts Wes asked that each of his friends bring a book to exchange.  It was quite a success, I must say!  Everyone brought a book and got to go home with one.

Wesley came home saying, "It was a great day for a birthday party!"  So true, kiddo.  So true.
