Are you going to Scarborough fair?

Why yes!  Forgot the parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme though.

We left York the morning of the Dec 28th under very heavy, cloudy skies.  The drive to the coast wasn't very long, only about an hour or two, and even though it was quite damp, it was still beautiful.

We saw LOTS of sheep, a flock of pheasants and even a shaggy Highland cow or two (the only cattle we saw at all!  quite a contrast from the US).

Arriving in Scarborough the clouds started clear up a little, but the chill stayed in the air.  We checked out the coast line from above, seeing the harbor below.

Time to explore the town for a little nosh!  After seeing the lovely downtown, I can see what a wonderful summer destination this would be.

We wandered around and found a very nice British style cafe (with a french name, funny enough), Le Cafe Jardin, and planted the whole group for a nice, warm lunch.  Most of us big folk opted for the "full English" which consists of baked beans, bacon, sausages, fried eggs, fried bread and toast, a roasted tomato and mushrooms.  It was delicious - not gonna lie.

With a long drive ahead of us to Edinburgh there wasn't time to linger much longer.  We piled in our cars and continued north to Scotland!  The farther north we drove the worse the weather got, but by the time we got to our hotel on the Waterfront it had at least stopped raining long enough for us to go find dinner.  Welcome to Scotland!
