A Tree and A Wii !!!

The kitties got a new toy - their very own cat tree! No, this does not grow cats, but it does give them a place to climb, scratch and generally hang out.

They were a bit skeptical at first, as any cat would be, but soon warmed up to it and are all over it now! Ophie tries very hard to make herself fit in the tiny nook on the middle level. She's wedged herself in there a couple times, but it is best fit for Nox.

Nox loves being up high, but isn't allowed on anything that would allow her this vantage point. For this, she loves the tree. She is forever perched on the two highest platforms watching birds and squirrels out the window, or curled up snoozing.

We have a Wii !

Josh had asked for one for his birthday (in July) but a coworker recently bought two at Best Buy and sold one to him. He called me at work trying to hide excitement about something, then he asked if I had checked my email where he had written earlier asking if it was okay that he buy his own birthday present... three months early.

When I came home that evening both he and Kaity were parked in front of the television but having a blast.

Knowing how "thrilled" I was to have a new gaming system in the house, both Kaity and Josh tried immediately to include me in the fun and to try to convert me into a gamer. We all made a Mii and actually had a really fun time playing Wii Sports for a bit.

After dinner we stopped by EB Games and picked up "Rayman and the Raving Rabbids" and "Zelda" for the new system. Kaity is totally into the Zelda game, but its going to take me a while to pick it up. Rayman, on the other hand, is super easy and a ton of fun! You get to toss cows, shoot crazy rabbits with toilet plungers and make them do disco moves against their will - its awesome! I'm not a total convert yet, but I can see this system not being as terrible as a regular system. There's much more body movement and coordination involved.

Wii !
