Run boys, run!

Van and Wes both participated in their school's 100 Mile Club this year.  Each Tuesday and Thursday morning they got up and out the door almost an hour early, and met their PE teacher, Mr Newell, and other students at the school to run laps.  The goal was to have run 100 miles by the end of the school year.  If the weather was too cold or too miserable to run outside they met inside and did laps in the school halls.  Even mom participated - I helped scan kids as they ran their laps.

Shaking Principal Haley's hand, and with his pal Dorian
At the end of the year there was a small ceremony in school to celebrate all the miles run by the classes.  Van made it to 92 miles this year, up from 77 last year.  Wesley was one of only two Kindergartners to achieve the 100 mile goal.  He made it 102 miles and received a "gold" medal for his efforts!!

We're so proud of both of them!
Not only for the miles they put on their shoes and the early mornings, but for their commitment throughout the year (with only a couple exceptions).

Thanking Mr Newell and shaking Principal Haley's hand.

With his two best buds, Travis & Josep
