One More Before It's Gone

In August Nana & PopPop came back for a second visit - Bonus summer visit!!  PopPop had arranged for the guys to all go fishing for a few days up near Steamboat Springs.  They'd rented a house, stock piled their flies and gear, and were ready to catch some fish!  Well, that part was kind of a dud, but the rest of the visit was really great!  All the grandkids LOVE having them here so much - I swear their faces must hurt from smiling all week!

Turns out Nana is an expert at the swings, and Ainsley may follow suit.

Van and Wes have a passion for legos, and love to share it.  They were teaching Ainsley and Nana how to build an awesome spaceship.  

 The Boulder Co Fair was in town!  The boys were super excited to go.  They watched the rides get set up all week.  We took Ains and Nana, and walked around through all the barns seeing the animals, and petting a few.  Ainsley got to ride the ponies, and all three kids got to go in the "water balls" again.  Later in the evening we finally got to the good stuff - the rides.  Nana was such a good sport and went on the roller coaster with Ains - too much fun!  The boys aren't much for all the spinning rides and coasters, but they love a good fun house and slides 'n such.  They found the fun house and went thru it again and again.  Everyone was dusty, dirty and ready for dinner when we left (no, we didn't opt for fair food this year.  Rain was coming in quick)

Before the grandparents left, Van and Wes had been dying to show them how to fish for crawdads.  We took 'em to the best spot - the drainage ditch in Hover Park, right by our house.  They showed Ains all the tricks, too, and these kids caught tons of the li'l critters!!  I believe the only reason they stopped fishing was because the kids were hungry.  They dumped the bucket of crayfish out together and let 'em all go free.

No one fell in the water - it was a good day.

It was a wonderful visit with the family again.  We're so stoked when they come out and have been spoiled this summer with all the time they've given us.
