The Graduate

Molly graduated from her Basic Obedience class.
It was pretty amazing how much it helped her feel more comfortable and at ease being the only dog in the house.  After Maggie left, Molly didn't have a cue as to how to behave and when things were ok or when she should be upset... so she became rather anxious.

Carly at High Drive Dog Co. was brilliant.  We walked into the first class, Molly pulling my arm out of the socket as always, and Carly immediately hands me a plastic "prong" collar and a squirt bottle of water.  Both yielded instant results.  Molly stopped the dramatic pulling with the collar (still work to be done, but it was better) and the squirt bottle stopped her from jumping up on people, as well as a couple other bad habits she'd started.

We learned proper commands, and have been working to create some life long good habits.  Her recall has improved as well as her overall temperament.  She and I are going to a doggie play group with Carly to help Molly feel more comfortable around other dogs (she was great with Maggie, but without her Molly's confidence was pretty shot).

We're all very proud of how far she's come in just 6 weeks, and we're going to keep working with her to build on these skills she's developing so well!
